London Missionary Visit

London is one of the most diverse and important cities in the world. Since the 1980s, the WELS European chaplaincy program has held monthly services in London for WELS-connected believers in the area. In recent years, many members from WELS’ sister churches around the world have been moving to the U.K. For example, more than 20 percent of members and leaders from WELS’ partner church in Hong Kong have already moved to the U.K., with more on the way.

In response to this opportunity, WELS World Missions has planted a new mission field in the U.K. Rev. Conifer Berg was assigned to begin serving the group already gathering in London, connect with contacts from other sister church bodies, and launch outreach efforts. With the Lord’s blessing, it is the prayer this mission work could provide a springboard for further in the U.K., made up of England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland, and the entire continent of Europe.

Pastor Berg will be visiting Bethany and give a presentation during the Bible study hour on Sunday, December 4 at 10:15AM. Please consider attending and learning more about the mission field in the U.K.

Volunteers Needed at Our Shepherd Childcare

Friday 12/23 from 2-3:30pm - We need 4-5 volunteers to help move items out of the kitchen AND Rooms 5 & 6 as the flooring in those areas will be getting replaced the week that we're closed for Christmas/New Years.

Our Fellowship Team will host and serve the first dinner, but we are looking for two more groups to host and serve on December 7 and 14. They could group be a small group Bible study, a couple of families together, or anything else. These are also great opportunities for the use of Thrivent Action Teams as well.

Building Committee Update - October 2022

What has been happening with the future building project on our Lyndale campus?

A lot of work has been accomplished so far. Members of Bethany’s building committee and representatives from Keller Construction have had numerous meetings throughout the months of August, September, and October. Many of the early meetings have been discovery in nature for the Keller team as they get to know our congregation, our needs and wants for the new building, how we will use it and the ministries we intend to conduct with it. From there we have moved into several preliminary conceptual design discussions looking at our property, the building needs, and traffic flow options to find a recommendation that best meets our needs and is financially responsible. This is an iterative process and is the stage we are currently still working on. There are a lot of factors and options to consider in order to make sure we have looked at and evaluated as many options and scenarios as possible. Our goal is to provide more communications in the coming weeks and months as our team narrows down the best possible options and prepares to share them with you.

If you have any questions in the meantime, feel free to reach out to Brett Birnschein, Chairman of the Bethany Building Committee.
