Sermon Series: Gather – Grow – Serve – Share

The vision of a church consists of the keystone pieces that a church sees as necessary to accomplish its mission. At Bethany, our mission is “to live our faith and share Jesus’s love with all people—one heart and home at a time.” To support that mission, we employ four key strategies:

  • WORSHIP God by coming together around Word and Sacrament

  • GROW spiritually by faithfully studying his Word at home and together

  • SERVE God and others by using our distinct gifts

  • SHARE the hope of heaven by telling others about the grace of Jesus.

Over the course of this sermon series, we will dive into each of these important elements of our lives as God’s people at Bethany.

Week 3: Serve God and others by using our distinct gifts

Serving our gracious God with all that we are and all that we have … it’s something that sometimes feels like a burden or obligation. Sometimes we think of a life of service as a life sentence. But it isn’t—and it also is. Today God lays before us an opportunity, rather than a punishment, to serve him and serve others. A life of service is an opportunity to live out our praise and thanksgiving to our God.
